I'm a professional SAT tutor. Here's a quick analogy to help explain this review: me looking at these tests is like an art critic looking at a fake Rembrandt. The critic spots it in two seconds. To the untrained eye, however, the painting looks real. How much is the fake worth? If no one had spotted it, it could have sold for millions. But now that it's exposed, it's almost worthless.

SAT tests written by a third party (like Kaplan) are not good representations of the real thing. The differences range from minor ones (too-straightforward math problems) to major ones (verbal questions that are too easy). I always recommend that students use authentic material. Practicing with this book will kind of get you familiar with the SAT, but you'll find the real SAT writes more complex and challenging questions - especially in the critical reading sections. Using this book for critical reading is like practicing for a baseball game with a softball and an aluminum bat.

A one-star review may seem harsh, and I'm sure the authors put a lot of time and effort into this book, but I can't recommend that any student use it when the College Board makes so many real tests available.

Very good practice work. It came with an explanation of the requirements up front and I would recommend that you read these before diving into the test practice. I used this as a 2nd practice for the SAT.
