This textbook is readable, and has some useful reaction summaries at the end of each chapter. I was able to attain the 7th Ed for much cheaper, and I would highly recommend doing the same because after comparing the 2 side-by-side... In addition, during class lectures the professor frequently pointed out errors in the book's diagrams/pictures...which again made me feel comfortable returning the book to amazon for the 7th Ed.
Amazon did a great job fulfilling the initial order, and the return process was simple/fast.

the text explains the information very well and is very straightforward. The book also contains very colorful and visual diagrams, especially for spectroscopy. The 8th edition is in the same format as the 7th edition except the stereochemistry chapter comes earlier, but the material is the same. If your class requires owl, buy the code and the 7th edition. That will save you a lot of money. Just looking out for the broke college students.
